Manic Down Productions – Vocal Booth

In 2024, Canadian country producer, writer, and artist developer Dan Swinimer of Manic Down Productions reached out with a critical issue: despite recording seasoned musicians through a high-end analog chain, his room was producing “boomy and muddy” vocals and acoustic guitars.

Objective measurements confirmed what experience had already suggested — excess internal energy was compromising the space. MDRN designed a solution that not only controlled the problem, but elevated the room’s overall character. A fortified treatment plan stabilized the spectrum, while custom diffraction units re-introduced life and dimension. The result is a space that feels larger than its footprint, offering both an open, dynamic sound when desired and a fully controlled environment when precision is the goal.

What was once a limiting room has become a versatile, balanced studio — one that finally allows Dan’s signal chain and performers to be heard at their full potential.
